Justice Eno Onu Onuorah of the Enugu State High Court sitting in Enugu today granted an order of interim injunction restraining the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Okwesiwele Nwodo, from performing his official functions until the determination of the motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction.
Nwodo is expected to preside over the presidential primaries of the PDP in Abuja tomorrow.
The plaintiff, Miss Colins Amalu sought the order in suit number E/449/2010 filed before the court.
The order was sequel to the oral application made on 20 December, 2010 by Chief Mrs. Justina Offia, SAN, on behalf of the plaintiff and the submission of Prof. Ilochi Okafor, SAN, for the defendant, Nwodo.
The plaintiff sought an order restraining Nwodo from exercising the right, power, or function or enjoying the privileges attached to the office of the National chairman of the PDP pending the determination of the motion on notice and the interlocutory injuction.
Justice Onuorah granted the order and adjourned the substantive suit till 31 January, 2011.
