Aspirant Found Dead Inside Car

A chairmanship aspirant under the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State Southwest Nigeria, Mr. Adetola Odunlami has been found dead in his car in Ijebu-Ode.

P.M.NEWS cheeks revealed that the deceased’s father, Chief Odunlami is the vice chairman of the ACN in Odogbolu.

The late Adetola Odunlami was said to be hale and hearty before he drove his ash colour Nissan Primera car from Odogbolu to Ijebu-Ode, where he died.

When our correspondent visited the scene at Moborode Road, close to a popular cafe in Ijebu-Ode, the deceased was found sitting with the seat belt around and the doors of the car locked.

The incident led to a traffic gridlock in the area yesterday morning as men of Ogun State TRAC led by their commandant, Kunle Ajibade, had a hectic time directing traffic.

A crowd besieged the scene to catch a glimpse of the late young politician.

Many people have described him as an easy going and generous young man.

According to a resident around the area who pleaded anonymity, “when we came out of our house early in the morning on our way to the Mosque, we saw the car with the man inside. But we thought he was drunk. We returned from the Mosque to find him there, moved closer and found that the occupant had died.

The police later came and forced the door of the car open. They removed the corpse to the mortuary while the car was towed to Igbeba Police Station.

A police source said: “I cannot say anything for now but we have commenced our investigation. I will be happy if people with useful information can come out to give us some information that will make our investigation easier.

“But the death is still mysterious. There was no mark found on his body. An autopsy will be carried out on the body before if could be released to the family.”

As at the time of filing this report police investigation was ongoing while the deceased’s family are eager to collect the corpse for burial.
