INEC Postpones Election In Kaduna, Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kaduna and Bauchi states.

The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Attahoru Jega made the announcement today in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Jega cited security concerns for the postponement.

The two states are among the northern states where post-election violence left many dead and several properties destroyed.

Jega also announced that the disputed Anambra Central Senatorial election will hold on 26 April.
