A 40-year old businessman and owner of a filling station who lodged in a hotel with his friend has been killed by security guards attached to the hotel.

The victim, Kehinde Taiwo, was a native of Iloro, in Oyo State. He returned to Nigeria from London where he was based two years ago to take over the running of his late elder brother’s investments.

Dependable police sources revealed that on the fateful day, Kehinde had held a crucial meeting with his family members at Pleasure near Iyana-Ipaja, and was accompanied to the place by a close friend, Engr. Friday Williams.

When it was too late both decided to lodge at Welcome Hotel in Abebi Area, Anglican road near Nitel Otta, Ogun State. The deceased drove into the hotel in his ML Mercedes Benz SUV.

P.M.NEWS further learnt that few minutes after they had settled down in their hotel room the deceased’s phone rang and when the network was bad he decided to go out of his hotel room to receive the call. Unfortunately for him, the same security guards who saw him when he checked into the hotel allegedly pounced on him with machete, and inflicted several cuts on his head and stomach.

He died after the attack.

His body was thereafter dumped outside the hotel with his intestine protruding out of the stomach, while the deceased’s friend Engr. Williams who was in the hotel room was unable to go out, since the door was locked from outside by the attackers. Williams had to call his wife and brother to tell them about his plight at the hotel and when they got to the hotel they called the police at Itele, who later arrested and detained the two guards while the third one escaped.

Wife of the deceased, Mrs. Nike Taiwo amidst tears and sobs said: “what a waste of innocent soul by these wicked security guards? What could have made them kill my husband? He was not into shady deals. He was a trustworthy husband indeed. What explanation would I give to is two children? They have killed my hope and joy.”

The two guards are currently being detained at Eleweran Police Command, Ogun State. They have also made a useful confessional statement to the police who are on the trail of the third guard that has fled.

The police also revealed that the deceased was expected to collect the sum of N2.5 million before the tragic incident.
