The former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, who was rumoured to have been arrested by the State Security Service, SSS, has arrived Kano State.
He arrived at about 4:55 p.m. via IRS airline from Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
His image maker, Mallam Suleyau Sule, described the rumour that he has links with the Boko Haram sect as baseless and the handiwork of the enemies of the ex-governor.
Though he declined to say whether Shekarau was invited by the SSS, he insisted that the rumour making the rounds was not true.
“You can see it yourself that His Excellency, the Sardauna Kano was not arrested. You can see that he is now back in Kano and he is moving straight to his house. I want to tell you that all these rumours are the handiwork of politicians looking for cheap publicity,” Sule said.
