ACN leader, Tinubu continues US lecture tour

The National Leader of the Action Congress (ACN) and former Lagos state Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is set to continue with his lecture tour in the United States of America with an address on Nigeria’s problems being delivered in Washington DC.

The climax of his tour will be a book launch on 25 August on “Financialism’, which he co-authored with a former US diplomat in Nigeria. The book dwells on the global economy.

Asiwaju’s itinerary made available in a media release confirmed that he would Tuesday, 21 August 21 this year take part in a Roundtable Discussion at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to discuss “Current Developments in Nigeria; The View of the Opposition” followed by another Roundtable at the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in Washington.

The leader of Nigeria’s opposition would on Wednesday, August 22 deliver a speech on “The Role of the Opposition in Meeting Nigeria’s Challenges” that would be followed by a question and answer session at the Woodrow Wilson Center.

While in Washington, Governor Tinubu will brief the US National Security Council.

On Thursday, August 23 the President of Chicago State University, Asiwaju’s Alma mata, Wayne Watson, PhD, would host the former Lagos state governor, with the Dean of School of Business School, Mr. Collins in attendance.

Tinubu will on 24 August meet the Chairman, CEO and members of the board of Trustees of Dusable Museum of African American History at the Museum campus, Hyde Park, Chicago, take a short tour of Dusable Museum artifacts and head into a Town Hall Meeting where participants would hear the ACN leader articulate “The Need for True Federalism in Nigeria”.

The climax of his US tour comes up on Saturday, August 25 with his book launch and signing preceded by a live television show with Rev. Jesse Jackson at the Headquarters of Rainbow Push Coalition.

The Nigerian community attending the book launch and signing would thereafter be hosted to a reception.
