Ositelu's Burial Rites Begin

The funeral arrangement for the veteran sport journalist, Ayo Ositelu, has begun.

Ositelu died at a Lagos hospital on 7 January at the age of 69.  According to the family, a service of songs will hold at the Church of the Lord, Aladura in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos today by 5pm.

The Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, where he once served as Executive Chairman, will hold another service of songs for him tomorrow at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium.

On Wednesday, there will be a service of songs at between 4-6p.m at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Sports Hall, Teslim Balgun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.  It is organised by the Lagos State Sports Endowment Fund.

A brief lying-in-state will be observed at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday, after which his remains will leave the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH in Idi Araba for Ogere Remo in Ogun State.

At Ogere,  a Christian wake will be held at the Ositelu Memorial College between 4pm-6pm.

The final burial will take place on Saturday, 2 February, at Oluwaseyi Compound, Ositelu’s House in Ogere, Remo, Ogun State.
