According to Olukoya, “in line with the best global practice where the sporting media refer to the league of a country by its officially approved name like the English League popularly known as the Barclays Premier League, we call on our brothers and sisters in the media to give the Glo Premier League the same support.”

Olukoya stated that Glo had sponsored the league continuously from 2003 to 2009/2010 seasons, adding that the company is proud to be back.

He said Globacom looks forward to working with the Nduka Irabor-led League Management Company to make the Glo Premier League the number one on the African continent.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the LMC in ensuring the smooth running of the league and called for more support for the management team in their effort to reposition the Glo Premier League to its rightful status among other leagues in the continent.
