The Nigerian State of Osun has employed 222 secondary school teachers to boost teaching and learning in the state’s East Education District.
Mr Kola Buhari, the Tutor-General of Osun East Education District, made this known on Tuesday in Osogbo during the 2013 budget performance review organised for Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs).
The review was organised by the Osun State House of Assembly’s Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
Buhari said that the teachers’ employment was sequel to a request by the education authorities in the district.
He said that the new teachers received their letter of employment on Monday, adding that they were expected to have reported at their duty post.
“We want to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to our listening governor (Gov. Rauf Aregbesola) for giving the approval for the recruitment.
“The employment will definitely boost our educational activities and facilitate a bright future for our children,’’ he added.
