Mercy Aigbe Weds Again

Top Yoruba movie actress, Mercy Aigbe, has finally formalised her marriage to Lagos hotelier, Lanre Gentry, at a quiet wedding ceremony held at the Ikoyi Registry, Lagos, western Nigeria.

The couple tied the knot in the presence of a few friends and family members.

Mercy, the new bride, looking stunning in a short white dress laced with a black trimmings over a pair of black pump, while her beau spotted a black blazer on white shirt and light blue dotted tie.

The union, the second for both Mercy and Lanre, is coming years after their traditional marriage. They already have a three-year old son together.

The couple later celebrated their special day with a romantic dinner at a Chinese restaurant with select guests in attendance.

Mercy’s love life with Lanre has also been a staple on many celebrity magazines and newspapers.

In an inteview with a national daily late last year, Mercy recounted the experience that led to the collapse of her first marriage that produced a girl.

“It’s not like I am trying to sound holy but I didn’t make any mistake in my first marriage. I just feel it was meant to be like that. I had a mother-in-law who didn’t like where I come from. She didn’t like the fact that her son didn’t marry a lady from their village. She made me go through hell at a point.

“When I couldn’t take it anymore, I left the marriage,” she recounted.

The actress however said she’s happy with her new hubby now and wish she had met and married him earlier than this time.
