Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS on Lagos Island, Lagos have arrested four Niger Republic nationals for allegedly burgling the warehouse belonging to their employer at Dosumu Market, Lagos Island at midnight to steal goods valued at N25m.
The suspects were alleged to have burgled the warehouse belonging to Mrs Jemilat Abiola and sold some of the goods to two receivers and others still at large.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Adamu Tairu, 35; Bukari  Ibrahim,  Ibrahim Hassan and Kazeem Yakubu.
The two alleged receiver of some of the stolen goods were Salisu Mohammed, from Sokoto  State and Aisha Tobeeb, 45, from Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Trouble started for the suspects in March, 2018 when the complainant, Abiola reported to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP in chiarge of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad, FSARS at Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island,  Lagos, Mr Ibrahim Kaoje that she suspected her four workers to be the people who burgled  her warehouse to steal goods valued at about N25m.
Police alleged that following the report, Kaoje directed a team led by DSP Ibrahim Yusuf to fish out the suspects and recover the stolen goods.
Following Kaoje’s  directives, Yusuf and his men swung into action and  after days of intelligence gathering, they arrested the female alleged receiver of the stolen goods Toheeb at Ijora Badia, Lagos, as she allegedly confessed to the crime that she had been receiving stolen goods from the suspects for long.
Toheeb led the Police to arrest all the other suspects at their hideout on Lagos Island, Lagos and they  also allegedly confessed to the crime that they had been stealing their employer’s goods for long  before the latest incident, adding that the devil pushed them to steal the goods because their employer was nice to them.
In his alleged confession to the Police, Mohammed, one of the alleged receivers of the stolen goods allegedly admitted that he only bought N320,000 goods from the suspects before they were arrested.
A Police source said that all the suspects would be charge to court after investigation of the matter.
