2019: Group hails Tinubu over Lagos APC's adoption of direct primaries

Lagos State Coordinator of Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, Seyi Bamigbade

A group, operating under the aegis of Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard has commended the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the party’s resolution to elect its candidates through direct primaries.

The group, which had before now intensified efforts to mobilize five million votes for the re-election of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the coming 2019 Gubernatorial election also lauded the party leader’s directive for commencement of registration of new members in state.

The State Coordinator of the Group, Seyi Bamigbade, who stated this while addressing thousands of youths who voluntarily adopted Ambode as their Governor beyond 2019 in Lagos said the resolution would further endear the party to many people in the state.

According to him, it would also give more people sense of belonging which the Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard had been canvassing for the past 16 months.

Seyi also thanked the youths for their support for the good governance under the administration of Ambode and advised them to use the opportunity to register as a member of the All Progressive Congress in Lagos State, so that they could partake in the direct primaries.

‘’We equally urged our members to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) before the expiration of registration deadline, 31st of August 2018 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” he said.

Also speaking, Segun Olulade, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Epe Constituency II urged the people not to abandon their civic responsibility by not collecting their PVCs, adding that it was their civic right as citizens of Nigeria.

Olulade, who represented the Lagos State Governor, Ambode at the well -attended endorsement of the governor’s continuity in office said, “Without your PVC, you are powerless, without your PVC, you can only complain, you cannot contribute. That is why we are calling on everybody to get your PVC so that we can give our tireless Governor Ambode five million votes on the day of the election.”
