Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa says that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the governorship poll for the state coming up in November because the ruling party has a massive support base.
Aiyedatiwa who said won the recently held governorship primary of the party, expressed the assurance of victory at the coming election, at a celebration celebration organised by his friends and associates in Akure, the state capital.
He said: “I appreciate all my supporters. You all went a long way for me, initiated things, spreading the message of O’datiwa, O’dirorun across the 18 local government areas of the state.
“However, it is not over yet. This is just the first phase. There’s still more land to conquer; there’s still a great battle ahead. The primary election was just a in-house contest and now we head to the main battle.”
Aiyedatiwa won the APC primary election by scoring 48,569 votes to defeat his closest challengers, Mayowa Akinfolarin who garnered 15,343 votes and Olusola Oke who got 14,915.
He won in 16 of the 18 Local Government Areas.
