Jonathan Orders Audit of NNPC Account, Appoints New GMD

Less than two months after his appointment, the Federal Government has removed Alhaji Shehu Ladan as the Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

He is to be replaced by Mr Olusegun Austin Oniwon, who until his appointment was Executive Director, Refineries and Petrochemicals of the Corporation.

It was gathered that Shehu Ladan was relieved of his post following indications that he may emerge the new deputy governor of Kaduna State.

Meanwhile President Goodluck Jonathan has also ordered a comprehensive audit of the books of the NNPC.

The President has directed the Minister of Finance, Olusegun Aganga to appoint a world class accounting firm to carry out the audit.
