Foreign Wrestlers To Honour Fashola

British Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, Miloko will lead 19 other top foreign wrestlers for the maiden edition of Intercontinental Wrestling Championship from 1-8 June to honour the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

The championship, put together by the Lagos State Wrestling Association and National Wrestling Alliance of Nigeria in conjuction with the Lagos State Sports Council, will attract over 30 international wrestlers led by Tony Destroyer, Nigeria’s heavyweight champion.

According to the Project Coordinator of the championship, Ahmed Mohammed, the opening ceremony will hold at Rowe Park Sports Complex, while the wrestlers will move to Lagos University Indoor Sports Hall, Ikorodu Town Hall and Sports Centre at Epe before the final and closing ceremony at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on 8 June, 2010.

Muhammed told P.M.Sports said that wrestlers like Brudi of Mexico, North American Champion, Price H.O, Afro-Asian Cruiserweight Champion, Letcosine-Twkish Light Heavyweight Champion, Pasoli, European Heavyweight Champion, Samala Germany Heavyweight champion, Baba Mutumu; African Super Heavyweight champion, Sunny Wonder of Nigeria; America Base Africa Lightheavy champion, kitters of Nigeria, Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion and Idris Tunkara of Central Africa Republic will take part in the tourney .

According to Muhammed, “the executive governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola has done so much for sports in the state and as such the idea to honour him with the intercontinental wrestling championship is for us to appreciate his good work
