It will be a harvest of honours when the 2010 BET Awards hold next month, as many homegrown African talents top the nomination list at the annual prestigious awards.
Leading the pack are Nigeria’s MI and P-Square, alongside Ghanaian star Kojo Antwi and South Africa’s HHP, who are nominated in the Best International Act category. This is the first time that African musicians will be nominated for the BET Awards.
Other musical artistes of African heritage, who were also nominated, include UK based Dizzee Rascal whose father is Nigerian and mum is Ghanaian; Wale, who is up for the Best New Artiste award, K’Naan, the World Cup Theme song writer, and Sale, who was also nominated in the Best International Act category.
