About 10 car brands in the stable of the CFAO Group will be on parade from 5 to 6 June 2010 at the Oceanview Restaurant, Victoria Island, as the group holds its maiden auto show.

The brands include Nissan, Renault, Mitsubishi, Fuso truck, Chevrolet, Isuzu and Iveco trucks.

Other auto dealers in the CFAO Group are Alliance Autos, Intermotors and Asian Hall CICA Nigeria Limited,  the newest, fast growing franchise from China which headlines the highly innovative Great Wall Automobiles.

Disclosing this at a joint press conference, Managing Director, NMI/Intermotors, Mr Graham Lowe, said the move is intended to add value to auto shows in Nigeria.

According to him, it is aimed at treating customers, especially auto lovers and their families, to a weekend of fun and fanfare.

“We have made provision for children to have fun as there will be face painting, life size cartoon character, music, dancing competition and lots more. This will leave parents free to have fun making decision and deals over which vehicle to buy.”

Speaking about the auto show, CFAO Chairman, Chief Molade Okoya Thomas, described the alliance of the auto giants as a good omen for the industry.

He disclosed that the show would expose the movers and shakers in the society  to the CFAO Group as a house of multiple auto brands where the consumer can make choices freely.

Managing Director of Asian Hall Cica Nigeria Limited, Regis Tromeur, also believed the coming together of the group is for the betterment of the auto industry. Customers would benefit from the various service packages available to users of the CFAO automotive brands, part of which, he said, is the opportunity to understand the differences between genuine and fake spare parts.

While admitting the decline in the number of vehicles imported in recent times by the CFAO group, Mr Lowe said the auto fair is one of the strategies adopted to turn around the ugly trend.

“We sincerely hope to increase sale of vehicles with the fair because we know it’s going to be a massive success,” Lowe stated.
