The immediate past Managing Director of the Nigerian Army Post-Service Homes Limited, Brigadier-General F. A. Mohammed and the engineer in charge of the scheme, Colonel G. E. Udegbe, were today court-marshalled for fraud running into billions of naira.
As at press time, P.M.NEWS gathered that the two senior officers of the Nigerian Army were being arraigned before a court-marshal set up by the Army to probe the involvement of the officers in the mismanagement of billions of naira meant for the Nigerian Army Post Service Homes and Savings Limited.
The court marshal is headed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 1 Division, Kaduna, Major-General K. Role.
The court sitting at the officers’ mess held its proceedings in camera this morning as people including reporters who went to cover the proceedings were denied entry.
The two officers were arrested following complaints and written petitions to the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau by soldiers that the houses and plots of land they had paid for under the post-service scheme were not allocated to them.
Gen. Mohammed and Col. Udegbe were arrested and detained in Abuja before their transfer to Kaduna to face trial.
