Milo Basketball: ISL, Ilupeju Win Lagos Final

University of Lagos International School, Yaba and Ilupeju Grammar School, Oshodi, Lagos have both qualified to represent Lagos State, Nigeria in the forthcoming 2010 Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship in the boys and girls’ categories.

International School, ISL, beat Ilupeju Grammar School by 49-23 points to pick the sole ticket for the boys category, while the girls from Ilupeju made up for the loss in the boys’ category with a victory over Christ the King Comprehensive High School in a game that ended 32-9 points to win the ticket to represent the state at Western Conference’s zonal qualifiers in Ibadan later this month.

Speaking with P.M.Sports, Babajide Adeloye, the hero of ISL’s victory at Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba, said the team are ready to do the state proud. He expressed joy over their victory, adding that the match was not as easy as the result showed. He noted that the Ilupeju boys really gave them a run for their money but with God, teamwork and determination, they were able to secure the ticket.
