Two staff of a micro-finance bank, Grooming Centre, have been arrested by the police in Lagos, Nigeria for alleged forgery and stealing.
The suspects, Ogbemudiare Ogheneovoke, 27 and 25-year old Omisore Temitope, were arrested and detained at the Idimu police station following a report lodged against them.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Temitope stole N425,000 and obtained a fake pay-in-slip showing she had paid in the money, while Ogbemudiare collected the money and refused to pay it into the bank’s account.
The fraud was discovered and they were arrested.
Temitope, it was gathered, confessed stealing the money, adding that she gave the money to her boyfriend to start life.
Counsel to the bank, Barrister Frank, confirmed the incident when P.M.NEWS visited the police station where the suspects were seen writing their statements to the police. He explained that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
