There was a rousing welcome this afternoon for former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC, Malam Nuhu Ribadu on his arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

Ribadu has been on self-exile since January last year following his persecution by the Nigerian authorities.

He arrived from the United States of America at about 4p.m. local time on board Delta Airlines.

A crowd gathered at the airport to welcome him long before his arrival.

In his short speech on arrival, he said: “I feel great to be back in Nigeria. It is wonderful.”

Photojournalists who came in droves jostled to take his photograph, while security men tried to shove away journalists who crowded around him.

Ribadu, who wore ash colour caftan and a black cap, left the airport at about 4.45p.m. in company of his children and relatives.
