Flying Eagles Resume Camping In Abuja

Flying Eagles Chief Coach, John Obuh has ordered the national U-20 team to report for camping tomorrow Monday, 7 June for the final phase of preparation ahead of the qualifying round for the 2011 African Youth Championship, AYC.

Obuh said the players, who are now used to winning following their triumphs at the Four–Nation Invitational Tournaments in Cape Town, South Africa and Cairo, Egypt are expected at the Kabza Hotel, Abuja from tomorrow morning.

“We have identified a number of new players and intend to match them with the old set that we had from the U-17 team. We want to see who and who can fit into the new set –up.

“We will not say because some players were in the U-17 team so they should automatically make the new squad, Obuh warned today.

The former Golden Eaglets coach wants all the players to fight for shirts, saying there won’t be automatic shirt in the Flying Eagles camp.

“It is either you perform or you’re kicked out,” he said.

The Flying Eagles have an away qualifying fixture against Guinea next month, with the return leg in Nigeria scheduled for the first weekend of August.
