The President and Founder, City Gate Ministries in Benin City, Edo State, Prophet Ojo Agge, has reiterated that the unification exercise currently going on within the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide will succeed, if leaders, and members alike, reform themselves.

He gave this hint when a four-man team of Celestial Church of Christ Unification and Reform Group Worldwide visited him in Lagos.

The clergyman lamented the level of decadence that has crept into the church, the abuse of the founder’s vision by leaders who capitalised on his demise to introduce absurdities into the activities of the church.

Agge said though they gave the impression that they were serious with kingdom business, intrigues and subterfuge within their ranks destroyed the spirit of co-existence that existed when Pa Oshoffa was alive.

”Their actions and inactions to me were premised on whetting their culinary desire. They denigrated the church that has raised great men who are highly successful today in their respective areas of callings when they washed their dirty rags in a courtroom over matters that would have received the attention of church elders. What are the roles of the elders, if I may ask?” he queried.

The clergyman said the reform must start with the visiting team, stressing that he was surprised that titles that existed when Pa Oshoffa lived, abounds everywhere. ”Titles have now become  a cash and carry business. Let them strip themselves of those titles that has no spiritual worth and revert to the ranks they were ordained by Pa Oshoffa. I think you leaders should restructure these offices to reflect what Pa Oshoffa laid down, one Pastor, one Supreme Evangelist and four Superior Evangelists.
