Acting on the instructions of Oba of Benin, Ereduawa Omonoba Ikuaponopona, traditional worshippers have stormed the streets of Benin City to curse criminals disturbing the kingdom.
Incidents of kidnapping, robbery and ritual killings have been rampant in Benin City and Edo State of recent.
Led by the Iyase (Prime Minister) of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe and the Chief Priest, Chief Wosakhare Isehkure, with other male worshippers, the traditionalists moved to different areas of the city, while raining curses on the criminals. They slaughtered more than 20 animals and sprinkled their blood all over King Square, other parts of the city as well as Urokpota Hall at the Erodo Local Government Secretariat.
