The Nigeria Police Force is to recruit 40,000 personnel into the constable cadre, according to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Emmanuel Ojukwu. Though he did not give any reason for the recruitment, sources at the police Headquarters in Abuja said the exercise would boost the number of police personnel ahead of next year’s general election.

The statement, issued on Sunday in Abuja, said the recruitment would begin today, June 14 and end on June 22.

It directed prospective applicants to download forms for the exercise from the Police website at www.nigerianpolice.org.
