Man Held Over Death Threats, Threatened To Kill Gov Daniel's Aide

The police in Ogun State have arrested a man, identified as Mr. Ayanka Nehemiah, for threatening the life of Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ogun State, Dr. Yomi Majekodunmi, with text messages and demanding for a ransom of N50,000.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Nehemiah had been sending text messages to Dr. Majekodunmi and demanding that he should pay the sum of N50,000 into his bank account.

The governor’s aide was said to have reported the case to the police at the Headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran where detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigations Department were mandated to investigate the matter.

The effort of the detectives paid off when Nehemiah was arrested in Makurdi, Benue State.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer Officer (PPRO) an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Muyiwa urged members of the public not to panic whenever they receive any threatening text message, but rather report such to the police. He promised that the police will always fish out such criminals whereever they may be because, according to him, the police have all that it takes to deal with such cases.

“My advice to members of the public is that they should not panic if they receive a text message from anyone threatening their lives and making demands for money they should report such cases to the police we will fish out the criminal anywhere they may be.”
