Yaba College of Technology football team and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Epe, have taken bold steps to win the football medal of the 2nd Lagos Inter Tertiary Games
Yaba Tech defeated the â€˜Pen Pushersâ€ Nigeria Institute of Journalism, NIJ, 3-0 in a match played at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos
Michael Otedola College of Primary Education walloped Ronik Polytechnic, Ejigbo 7-0 in a match decided at the playground of the UNILAG Sports Centre.
In another encounter decided yesterday, LASPOTECH and UNILAG settled for a goal apiece in the opening match of Group A also decided at the Legacy Pitch.
Meanwhile, Prince â€˜Wale Oladunjoye, Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Raji Fashola, under whose office the biennial championship is taking place, said this tourney will live up to expectations. He added that with what the teams played on Day One of the championship, indications are that the football event would be highly competitive.
The competition, which began yesterday will end on 3 July. It is taking place in five centres across the state.
