God’s Favour Football Club of Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria are set to hit Benin Republic for a training tour.
The club kicked started their preparation for the trip two weeks ago. When GSG visited the club on Monday, the players were training hard ahead of the tour.
God’s Favour coach, Robinson Emuoma, said that the team will travel to Benin in the next two weeks. “The Benin trip will help expose my players to possibly get clubs Benin.
“The players are excited about the trip, that is why everyone wants to give his best in the screening exercise we are doing before the trip. There is no way we can take all the players to Benin Republic,†he said.
Speaking on behalf of the players, captain of the team, Michael Okoh, said his teammates have shown a lot of commitment to the club, adding that their trip to Benin Republic will expose the players.
“We are not going to Benin for fun. We are going there to expose ourselves, see how football is played in Benin and what we can do to improve our game. It is going to be a good outing for us because we will play big clubs in that country,†he said.
As part of the preparation, God’s Favour FC played 1-1 with Weekend Football Academy in a friendly match on Monday at the practice pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere.
