The entertainment industry as a whole and Nigerians in general have fully embraced the forthcoming Wazobia Awards billed for November 2010 in Lagos.

The majority of the people see it as a unique and all encompassing concept and as such consider the project and its choice of language as a great idea. They perceive the use of the unofficial language as something that is long overdue, reiterating that “we don speak English tire, make we speak our own pigin jare.”

The orgarnisers confirmed that they have been receiving positive calls and messages for support and endorsement of the project, adding that response from people echoed the general belief that the use of pigin English needs to be promoted and emphasised, as it forms the major unifying factor for both government and entertainment industry in Nigeria.
