Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola is expected toattend the closing ceremonies of the 2nd edition of Lagos Inter-Tertiary Games tomorrow at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
The governor, who will be the Special Guest of Honour during the closing ceremony of the competition, which started on 24 June, 2010 will be joined by the Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Sosan, whose office is overseeing education in Lagos State.
Other dignitaries expected at the colourful ceremony are the Dr. Elijah Adewale, Special Adviser on Education to the Governor, Dr. Dolapo Badaru, Special Adviser on Sports, Prince Demola Adeniji-Adele, Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development and the Director of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education
According to the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, Prince ‘Wale Oladunjoye, who is also the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Raji Fashola, the final events will start by 12 noon with the arrival of contingents, that include the officials, players, invited guests and fans.
“By 1p.m., the third placed match in the football event between Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH and Federal College of Education (Technical) will be played after which there will be march past of all participating schools.
“After this there will be finals of the athletics event, before the grand finale of the football event between Lagos State University and Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education will round off the event of the day,†he said.
To qualify for the final, LASU defeated LASPOTECH 2-1, while Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education beat Federal College of Education (Technical) 1-0.
