LASPOTECH Wins Lagos Inter-Tertiary Games

Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, made a good defence of the Lagos Inter-Tertiary Games the institution won last year as they defied all odds to win the 2010 edition that ended on Saturday.

LASPOTECH led the medal table at the end of the week-long championship with 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.  University of Lagos , UNILAG, came second with  5 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals. The third position went to Yaba College of Technology with 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Lagos State University, LASU came fourth with 2 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze medals. Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education came fifth  with 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal. In the sixth position is Army School of Finance and Administration with 1 gold medal, while seventh position went to St. Augustine College of Education with 2 bronze medals.

Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education won the football gold after defeating LASU 4-2 through penalty shootout after the two teams  played 1-1at  regulation time at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday. The football bronze medal went to LASPOTECH, who walloped Federal Technical College (Technical), Akoka 5-0.

The 4 x 100m relay races (women and men) were won by LASPOTECH. The school also cleared the gold medals in the 4 x 400m race in both categories.
