Wife of notable Yoruba juju musician and member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Risikat Adegeye, yesterday afternoon, threw her colleagues at the House and visitors including Mass Communication Students of a university into uncontrollable laughter when she shouted before the House that she wanted to go to the loo.
She is the wife of Sunday Adegeye a.k.a. King Sunny Ade.
Asked why she was leaving the hallowed chambers while an important issue was being discussed, Hon Adegeye said, “Please ma, I will like to go and pooh-pooh ma,†thus causing a prolonged laughter.
She rushed out of the Assembly chambers immediately not minding the effect of her statement on the members of the House before the Acting Speaker, Hon. Bola Badmus-Olujobi, could grant her permission.
The act took place while the members of the House were deliberating on an executive bill sent to them for the creation of the Office of the Auditor-General.
For several minutes, the woman did not return to the chambers.
The members are, however, in support of the bill as most of them said though the Auditor-General had existed in the state, the office has been treated undeservedly for several years.
The bill which was seen as timely by the members is, according to them, to revive the almost moribund office.
They also averred that the existence of the office is a major concern of the international community including the World Bank.
They emphasised that with the office, the entire government of the state would be regulated in financial terms.
The Acting Speaker thus referred the bill to the Ad-Hoc Committee on Public Accounts for State..
