The Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, has pledged to continue to execute developmental projects in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

Agunsoye, who made the pledge during the inspection of completed and uncompleted projects by the ministry in the LCDA, commended Otunba Yetunde Arobieke, the Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, on the construction of drainage channels and other projects in the area.

He said that the projects are timely as it would ensure that there will be no casualties due to heavy rainfall.

“We have not seen anything yet as regards rainfall. It is still going to come down heavily and we don’t want any casualty or disaster,” he said.

Arobieke appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the council in executing some of the projects as the burden is too much for the LCDA to handle alone.

The council, she said, decided to embark on the project because being a riverine area, the residents will be exposed to danger when the heavy rains that had been predicted come down.

The ongoing works include clearing of the canal at Alapere roundabout beside Tantalizers, construction of drainage channel at Adisa Balogun and Igboro among others.
