A 62-year old man who has been paraded himself as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Aderemi Wunmi, was yesterday arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Police sources informed P.M.NEWS that Wunmi was arrested following a tip off by some of the people who had fallen victims of his antics.
The sources stated that following series of complaints by members of the public that they were duped by the suspect, police laid an ambush for him at an undisclosed hide-out and he was arrested.
Impersonating as AIG, Wunmi collected money from people and promised to assist them obtain forms for the school of Cadet Inspector.
He neither provided anyone with form nor helped his victims to be enlisted in the police college.
The police source told P.M.NEWS that Wunmi has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos where he would beÂ charged to court for impersonation after investigation.
