Enugu Govt Renovates NYSC Camp Awgu With N27m

The Enugu State government has approved the award of contract for the repairs and renovation of different buildings and other structures at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Awgu.

The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Chuks Ugwoke disclosed this to P.M.NEWS.

The contract was awarded to Occad International Limited, at the contract sum of N27, 666,145.78 while the other part was awarded to Afor International Limited at the contract sum of N22,576,576.

Facilities to be renovated are hostels, administrative blocks and directors’ residence, he said.

He also announced that the state governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime, would be meeting with the chairmen and secretaries of Enugu State Town Unions to deliberate on government’s programmes and activities, especially visit to every community with a view to knowing the projects the communities are interested in implementing in their areas.

The state government also approved the transformation of the State Performance Improvement Bureau (PIB) from the Office of the Head of Service to a Service Compact (Servicom) under the Governor’s Office.

The Commissioner said that under the new arrangement, the servicom would receive complaints of service delivery failures in the public service from members of the public and ensure that such failures are rectified.

According to him, the action was government’s step to ensure that the people get good and effective service from the public service nand those found wanting would be sanctioned.
