The police at Ikorodu, Lagos State have arrested a suspected armed robber with a locally made double barrel shotgun following a tip-off by members of the public. The suspect was identified as Williams Abiodun.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Frank Mba, said after a tip off by the residents, an anti-robbery team was sent to the scene and they arrested Abiodun and recovered the locally made double barrel shot gun and one live catridge.
Crime Watch gathered that during interrogation, Williams Abiodun confesed that it was his gang that recently robbed the residents of House 22, Alhaji Seidu Busari Street, where properties worth millions of naira were carted away.
Similarly, the men at Orile Police Station during a stop and search operation arrested three suspected armed robbers at Alafia Pin Down Point, Orile, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The suspects Alabi Adekunle, Oluwaseun Benson and Ike Samuel after their arrest have made useful statements to the police.
They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba for interrogation.
