Four persons were reportedly killed this morning at Efon-Alaye in Efon Local Government area of Ekiti State, Nigeria, following a violent clash over the relocation of the state’s college of education.
Details of the bloody clash were however sketchy as at the time of this report, but P.M.NEWS gathered that the fracas was still on going as at this afternoon.
Tension had risen in Ikere-Ekiti yesterday following an announcement by the state government that it has relocated the college of education in the town to Efon-Alaye where it would operate from the Government College, Efon-Alaye which in turn had been relocated to Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government.
The state government was said to have hinged the relocation of the college of education on its decision to locate the state university of education at Ikere-Ekiti.
P.M.NEWS further gathered that youths in Ikere-Ekiti had yesterday gathered at Odo-Oja area of the town threatening mayhem, after the relocation was announced on the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, (BSES).
The fracas spread to Efon-Alaye this morning, leading to the death of four persons.
