Lagos Ministry Of Works Engineer Electrocuted

A civil engineer with the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, South West, Nigeria, Engineer Taofeek Oluwakemi Saromi, has been electrocuted.

gathered that the 36-year old -civil servant died on Sunday, 11 July, while trying to switch from PHCN power supply to his generating set to watch the World Cup final between Spain and Netherlands.

According to neighbours of the late Saromi in Alimosho area of the state, when he got to his Blk 11 residence in Shagari Estate, Mosan, Ipaja with his wife around 7.30 p.m. after an outing, because there was power outage and he went straight to his generator house to change the source of power supply. As he was about to switch to the generating set, power was restored and he was electrocuted.

His neighbours told P.M.NEWS that the late engineer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead and his body was deposited in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary, Ikeja.

Saromi  would be buried at his 16, Adeyemi Street, Off Owotolu Road, Ayobo, Lafenwa, Ayetoro, Ogun State, residence, which he had planned to move into with his family in December.

The late residence engineer had been in charge of road construction in Alimosho, which now comprises one local government and five local council development areas.
