I’m Focused, No Distraction –Sunshine

The chairman, Egbe-idimu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Lagos, Nigeria, Hon. Adebayo Bello popularly known as ‘Sunshine’ has described allegation of abandonment of some road projects in his area, as an attempt to distract him.

Confronted with the allegation, the chairman said there had been several efforts in the past by his adversaries to make him lose focus on his planned dreams for the council area, vowing to ensure the delivery of dividends of democracy.

Hon. Adebayo said, “so far, so good, we thank God Almighty for what he has done in our LCDA, because He possesses the order city, authority, ability and integrity to rule humanity to infinity.

“As far a I’m concerned, I don’t need to lose focus of what I have come to do for my people, I want to ensure the moral and physical upliftment of Egbe-Idimu in terms of infrastructure, education, security and poverty alleviation through empowerment among others.

“These much I have done and they are there for people who go around the LCDA to see. I don’t get bothered when people speak negatively about me, so far I’ve satisfied my conscience and my God, moreso, there is freedom of speech for anybody to say whatever they like.

“You know you cannot satisfy human beings  even in the ara of Jesus Christ, they faulted him despite his pious ways and ended up crucifying him.”

He however said that objective criticism in governance is normal and that it encourages a listening government to improve on its programmes and satisfy the yearnings of the governed.

Describing the allegations levelled against him as blatant lies, Hon. Bello said there are many road projects ongoing in the LCDA and that they were being tackled one after the other, explaining that Rome was not built in a day.

Counting on his wealth of experience as a seasoned politician and administrator, the council boss said he had been tested and trusted, having started his political career as a delegate, councilor, deputy executive secretary, vice chairman and now chairman.

Bello reiterated his administration’s desire to touch the lives of the people in the area, believing in the ancient saying that whatever you do today, will become history tomorrow.

He hopes that the LCDA’s magnificent administrative building under construction would be commissioned  in October when the administration would mark its second year in office.
