There was confusion at Anthony Bus Stop, along Ikorodu Road, Lagos, Nigeria at the weekend when a bus carrying disabled persons was arrested by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for violating traffic rules and using the BRT lane.

But the physically-challenged persons in the bus did not take the arrest kindly as they pounced on the LASTMA officials and tore the uniform of one of them to shreds.

They mobilised their colleagues around and engaged the LASTMA officials in a free-for-all. They also blocked the road leading to the traffic agency’s office and threw stones at the officials.

It took the intervention of policemen from Ilupeju and Ketu to restore peace.

Despite the attack, the LASTMA officials succeeded in towing the bus with registration number XQ 988 BDG to their office at Anthony Village.
