Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have destroyed a notorious hideout of Indian hemp hawkers and smokers under the bridge at Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The black spot is notorious for the hawking and consumption of Indian hemp.
The NDLEA operatives, P.M.NEWS gathered, arrived the spot unexpectedly and arrested some suspects with Indian hemp.
The operatives also set fire on their makeshift shops. Some of the suspects were seen running helter-skelter to evade arrest by the operatives.
Efforts to speak with the operatives on the arrests proved abortive.
All the suspects arrested were later taken to the NDLEA headquarters at Ikoyi for interrogation and prosecution.
Residents and motorists at Obalende commended the NDLEA operatives for trying to sanitise the area of illicit drugs and appealed to them to intensify effort in this regard to save the lives of youths in the country.
