As the 2010 edition of Felabration holds in October, former governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke; President of the Silverbird Group, Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce; Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi and Femi Eso, have been picked as members of the Advisory Committee.
P.M. Entertainment learnt that they were recently selected by members of the Planning Committee, based on their pedigree and relationship with the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and his family.
Investigation revealed that apart from advising the committee, they are to see to the successful hosting of 2010 edition of Felabration.The chairman, Planning Committee of the event, Theo Lawson, confirmed the appointment of the four members, saying it was after a series of deliberations it was concluded that the men are the best for the job.
Lawson said that the theme for this yearâ€™s edition of Felabration is VIVA Africa which means Africa unite, a theme picked from one of Felaâ€™s songs recorded in 1969
He said that the event will hold between 11 and 17 October, 2010 and Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, who is on tour of the United States of America, will return in August in preparation for the celebration.
Theo Lawson also told P. M. Entertainment that one of the surprises of this yearâ€™s edition is the hosting ofÂ Fela on the Runway in Nigeria by February 2011.
Lawson added that the committee has appointed STB McCan as sponsorship partners for 2010 Felabration.
