There are indications that a fresh crisis looms in the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, as the Chairman, Ernest Obi, has been accused of embezzlement.
A text message sent to NollywoodReel by a unanimous member of the guild suggests that if drastic steps are not taken, the problems in the AGN will degenerate.
In the controversial text message, it was alleged that Ernest has been withdrawing money from the guild’s account without the consent of other executives.
According to the text message, “he has been withdrawing money from the guild’s treasury without the consent of other executive members…â€
Although Ernest has refused to comment on the issue for now, the National President of the guild, Segun Arinze, noted that the rumour is the handiwork of Ernest’s detractors.
He argued that if at all the rumour is true, those behind it should complain officially.
