If informations reaching Boxing In Focus are anything to go by, the Nigeria Boxing Federation, NBF is working hard to ensure that boxers that would represent the country at the Commonwealth Games win medals.
The NBF is planning to send the boxers embark on a training tour to put them in shape ahead of the games holding later in the year in New Delhi, India.
President of NBF, Rotimi George-Taylor, disclosed to Boxing In Focus that the Federation is working out modalities for the training tour in good time but they have to meet with the National Sports Commission, NSC, to endorse the trip.
George-Taylor, who is contesting for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives on the platform of Peopleâ€
“The boxers going for the Commonwealth Games have been training hard in camp for months. We know how competitive the Games would be, that’s why we want the boxers to go on a training tour. We are yet to conclude but definitely it wonâ€
He also expressed confidence on the only Nigerian boxer flying Nigeriaâ€
George-Taylor, however, said despite Muideenâ€
“We at the NBF actually proposed that Muideen would go on a training tour but funds were not available so we had to shelve the plan. My joy is that he had the best of preparation on the home front. The coaches really worked on him and he is also aware of the task ahead of him. I know he wonâ€
