Ramadan: Lagos Provides Free Meal For Civil Servants

It’s Ramadan again and our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Lagos State Civil Service are in for free meal.  This is because the Lagos State Government has begun to provide those fasting among them free meal.

The programmed has since kicked off and Muslim faithful are now seen queuing behind the Mobile Kitchen within the secretariat on daily basis, to collect packs of food with smiles on their faces.

At least, 2,000 free packs of food and fruits would be provided for the 22 working days contained in the Ramadan period.

Muslim faithful can now collect packs of food from the secretariat and add it to the one they would get at home to make for a sumptuous fast breaking period and indeed, a time to wine and dine and don’t be surprised that many will not emaciate as a result of the long fasting period.

Head of Service, Mr. Adesegun Ogunlewe, stated that the programme was made possible in order to allow officers who worked late in the office and could not go home to break their fast to have something to eat.

He was of the view that the exercise would add colour to the Ramadan season as well as make the observance of the fast easier for Muslim public servants in the state.

The HOS added that vouchers would be distributed to agencies which would in turn issue them to their respective members of staff for the collection of packs/fruits from the Mobile Kitchen van.

Ogunlewe, however, felicitated with Muslims faithful and wished them a memorable Ramadan.
