Over 120 football agents in the country have signified interest to participate in the maiden  football agents’ workshop slated for Lagos.

Shina Philips,  Director of  Match Makers Consult, the initiator of the workshop, says the idea is to update the country’s football players’ agents with the latest development in players’ management.

He said the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF,  is in suppor of the initiative, adding that the workshop has been fixed to hold shortly after the elections of the new NFF board coming up in Abuja.

“We want to use the workshop to educate the participants because a lot of instructors have been invited to speak at the forum. We also want to use the opportunity to form a viable player-agent’s body, that will represent the interest of members in the country.

“We have a partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation to ensure that the programme is a success. We don’t feel the change of guards in the FA will affect the programme, since any board will certainly buy the idea for its football to grow.

Nelson Olafisoye, the Chief Operating Officer of the organising company, also assured that everything is in place to ensure the programme goes on smoothly.
