The deplorable state of Idimu/Ejigbo road has become worrisome not only to those living in the area but also to motorists and others that have to ply the road on daily basis.
The motorists and residents have therefore expressed displeasure over how the road has been left unattended to by the agencies concerned and the state government.
The situation, according to them, has become worse with the incessant rainfall in recent times and this, they said, has affected both human and vehicular movements on the road due to its terrible condition.
One of the residents, Taiwo Ajetunmobi, decried the stance of the state government and the agencies charged with the responsibility of maintaining roads in the state, towards the plight of those using the road.
Ajetunmobi added that residents of the area may soon be cut off from other parts of the state if the road is not given urgent attention.
“This is the only road that links us to other parts of the state but with its present condition, we may be cut off entirely.
“I am appealing to the state government on behalf of others, to assist us in repairing the road as this would put a little smile to our faces and we shall ever remain grateful,†Ajetunmobi stated.
Mr. Anofiu, a commercial motorcycle operator popularly called okada, said since the road had gone bad, his fortune in the business has nose dived, while also calling on the agencies charged with the responsibility of road rehabilitation in the state to come to fix the road without much delay.
