Kingmakers Endorse Owonla

Kingmakers in Ashipa-Candos in Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have unanimously endorsed Prince Abdul Moroof Aremu Owonla a.k.a. Kaka, as the monarch of the ancient town.

This was revealed by one of the kingmakers, Alhaja Isiwat Ramoni, while speaking with newsmen after they rose from a meeting over who rules the town and plans to install him.

She stated that it was approved at the meeting that the Grade II chief requested for by the community should be quickly approved by the state government to create room for the installation of Prince Owonla.

Another kingmaker, Chief Jelili Amusa, said the kingmakers and the entire people of the community decided to choose and endorse Owonla because of his immense contribution to the development of the town.

He disclosed that the young man, who is the proprietor of Impressive Group of Schools and Kaka Auto Mart, both in Ashipa, had single-handedly donated land for the building of a market, playground, mosque and recreation centre to encourage social activities in the town.

According to Amusa, Prince Owonla also went as far as influencing government projects like power supply, road rehabilitation and construction as well as water project in the community.

Other kingmakers at the meeting include Alhaja (Chief) Saratu Jarinatu, Alhaja (Chief) Kuburat Ramoni, Prince Kazeem Owonla and Chief Amusa Balogun.
