Osun Lecturers Suspend Strike

Lecturers in the four Osun State owned tertiary institutions have suspended the three months old strike which  paralysed academic activities in the schools.

, however, learnt that the strike was only suspended to respect the State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinolola. The congresses of the four institutions have said the suspension would only last for  30 days.

The affected institutions are Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke and the two Colleges of Education in Ilesa and Ila-Orangun respectively.

The four institutions embarked on an indefinite strike on Monday, 24 May, this year, demanding for improved welfare package, adequate funding and implementation of 65 years retirement age for lecturers among others.
