Muslims all over the world have been admonished to be good observers of the tenets of Islam during the Ramadan period.
The advice was given by the chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, Mr. Akeem Omoyele Sulaimon, in a press statement made available to LG Circuit.
Sulaimon, also fondly called Oris, further urged them to use the period to pray for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections and also for sustenance of peace being enjoyed in Lagos State under the leadership of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.
He advised politicians, especially public office holders among Muslims, to place national interest and the good of the greatest number of the people above all personal and parochial interests in all their actions.
Sulaimon also appealed to the electorate not to sell their votes in the forthcoming elections since, according to him, selling of votes will undermine good governance, while urging them to consider the records of previous and present performance as well as integrity of aspirants before voting for them.
